Machiko Shishido 

Received a Diplom (M.A.) in concert piano performance at the National Music University in Vienna, Austria. Studied with Professors Dieter Weber and Bruno Sidelhofer.Performed many solo and chamber music concerts in Europe, Japan, and the U.S. She has also taught piano performance at a State Music School in Austria. 

 

She started traditional Japanese and Chinese art of paper cutting when young and her work was used as a cover of monthly art magazine. She got into ceramics and ceramic sculptures while in Vienna when studying piano. After she moved to the U.S.A., she took the first course on pottery wheel in 1996. She is now also active in Tokyo, Japan and Kathmandu, Nepal. She is pursuing creating synergy between music and porcelain art.
